Fruity Granola

Homemade granola is simple, with simple wholesome ingredients.  Change up the flavour using different Saunders jams combined with oats, dried fruits, nuts and seeds.

Makes:  about 3-4 cups


  • 1/2 cup                 Saunders Jam – Raspberry,  Strawberry, Peach, Saskatoon, Strawberry Rhubard
  • 2 Tbsp                   honey
  • 1/4 cup                 canola oil or coconut oil
  • 3 cups                   Old Fashioned oats
  • ½-3/4 cup            combination of dried fruit (raisins, chopped apricots, apples, coconut, banana chips),
  • Chopped nuts and seeds (almonds, hazelnuts, cashews, pecans, pumpkin, sunflower).
  1. In a small saucepan whisk jam, honey and oil and heat just until bubbly, remove from heat.
  2. In a large bowl, combine oats and preferred add ins.
  3. Pour warmed jam mixture over and stir to cover.
  4. Lightly oil a rimmed baking tray or shallow roasting pan.
  5. Bake in a 350 oven for 20 minutes, stirring occassionally, until lightly toasted.
  6. Watch carefully.  Reduce heat if needed.
  7. Cool and store in airtight container.
