AFTERNOON TEA
Afternoon Tea. A lovely tradition created by Anna Russell, the Duchess of Bedford, in 1840. You see the Duchess could not handle the hunger pains that occurred, while waiting for her 8 pm dinner.
Introducing Afternoon Tea to friends started a tradition. Queen Victoria, a good friend of the Duchess of Bedford and a connoisseur of all things sweet, elevated Afternoon Tea to a British tradition.
Today, Afternoon Tea continues in its various forms, from simple to elegant.
